The official opening of the new rabbit accommodation will take place at our Kennel Open Day next Saturday, May 24 at 10:30am.
We will be holding a kennel open day with the chance to look around not only our small animals but our cats and dogs. The open day will finish at 1pm.
There will be lots going on and a chance to buy tickets for our Summer Raffle, some delicious cakes, the official unveiling of our new logo and our new website. We really hope you can join us and see how much your support means to us.
It is rabbit awareness week and many of the vets are offering free check ups and reduced price vaccinations.
Rabbits regularly get overlooked when it comes to routine health checks but it is a sad fact that rabbits, being prey animals, will often hide illness until it is too late, so regular check-ups are all the more important.
We have many cats and kittens looking for new homes. All the kittens currently looking for homes will be ready to go by this weekend. We also have young cats from a year old as well as pairs of cats that would like to stay together.
For a quieter life we also have a couple of older cats, and although quieter no less loving.
We have three supporters doing sponsored events for us, so far, this year. We will shortly have our Virgin Money Giving Account up and running which should make it easier for anyone who wants to take part in a sponsorship event and raise funds for BARK. Tom Woodcock of Direct-Pets is the first of these. Coast to Coast, from St Bee to Robin Hoods Bay, 200 miles and climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest over 13 days. Sponsorship forms are available at various places or visit http://direct-pets.com/coast-to-coast
Please consider joining our Friends of BARK scheme and make a regular donation to BARK each month. Please send us an email and we will be delighted to send out more information.
