Celebrity naturalist David Bellamy helped Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust to release nine beautiful swans back onto the Tweed at Paxton in 2004.
Six of the birds were immature cygnets, who had been born too late in the autumn to survive the winter.
They had been taken care of by the Trust in their barn. The others were adults who had suffered from lead poisoning or become entangled in fishing line.
More than 80 children and adults helped Bellamy liberate the swans, including members of the local Watch Wildlife Club, who were keen to meet him and discuss swan conservation.
