The sheep section at Powburn Show was one of the best yet, organisers have said.
Farmers from across the area took part in competitions at last weekend’s event with judges impressed with the animals put in front of them.
The overall champion was Kevin Young with a Texel while Robert Mackat’s Scotch Blackface was the reserve.
Show chairman Suzanne Horn said: “We have a very impressive show of sheep with all the farmers turning out.
“There were over 200 sheep on show in the competitions which is fantastic, and an excellent turnout.”
The show attracted a good crowd despite downpours in the morning. More then 40 hill runners turned out and there were good entries in the industrial and horticultural classes.
Suzanne Horn added: “Considering the torrential rain we had in the morning it was a really good show.
“The terrier racing, as always, was good fun and attracted the crowds, and generally there was a really good atmosphere.”
