The Erskine United Reform Church Candle Festival started on Sunday night when parishoners started lighting the 100 plus candles.
The festival is open until the Christmas Eve service at 11.30. The church is open during the day and visitors are welcome to visit the Prayer Garden and light a candle.
This year the theme is Belford’s Dissenting History.
The church has been given Heritage Lottery Funding to publish the history book of its time on the village.
To celebrate this Belford Players performed a short play about the clock in the church which was made by Belford clockmaker Thomas Tait in 1812.
