Help is at hand for service veterans

Have your say

Lifelong assistance for ex-service personnel and their families was the focus of attention for the local branch of the Royal British Legion at its recent NAFFI Break in Berwick.

RBL senior independent living advisor Paul Robinson was on hand to assist with providing advice about services available to veterans, such as challenging decisions made by the local authority in respect of aids and adaptations, disabled facilities grants and care packages.

The team also work alongside the Handy Van Service, which can carry out the installation of ramps and household resilience checks, etc.

For assistance, contact Paul on 0808 802 8080.

The service is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Alternatively, contact local RBL representative Tony Waddell on 07470 224656.

The next NAAFI break will take place on October 4, from 10am to 1pm, in the Berwick Voluntary Centre, 5 Tweed Street.

The NAAFI break is open to all, so why not come along?

You can meet up with old colleagues, learn more about the work of the Royal British Legion, and find out how it can help you, or simply enjoy a relaxing cuppa.
