BARK news

A STRAY lurcher cross Saluki, tan and white, was handed in from the A1 near Eyemouth last week. Any information on an owner would be appreciated.

Even if your dog has lost his collar, if you get your dog (or any other animal for that matter) microchipped if it turns up at a vets or council dog pound, you would become reunited.

Dougal is about six years old, and a very large, but extremely soft, rottie. Although he has always been kept outside (and in not great conditions) he is perfectly clean in his kennel, loves to tuck up in his bed with a blanket, and clearly enjoys a warm, cosy environment. He is well behaved around other dogs and very people friendly. He is currently being treated for a very long standing ear infection which must have been causing him a great deal of discomfort but he loves having his ear drops put in and the ear rub that goes with that. He is overweight but has already lost six kilos and just loves to be out walking. We are aware of a few rumours going around about this dog, which have no evidence behind them. He is a super, gentle soul, who needs an experienced large breed owner. He is definitely one that everyone is amazed at his wonderful nature.

Holly, the nine year old Border Collie, has lost a couple of kilos and is beginning to show her collie side. She has always lived with Dougal but clearly found him rather tiresome. As her conditions improves she is benefiting from extra walks. She has been super with all the staff and potential owners that have met her. She will be best in a retirement type home, ideally as an only dog where she can enjoy a bit of warmth and comfort in her final years.

Our Easter Fair is at the end of March and we would appreciate any items for tombola prizes. If you are an avid baker we would also appreciate donations of home baking nearer the time. It is that time of year when membership for our 100+ club is looming. For £24 a year there is a chance to win monthly prizes of £25 and once a year at our AGM the prizes are £100, £50 and £25.
