East Coast has unveiled a new £87,000 customer information office at Berwick railway station to provide better facilities for passengers.
Customers will be able to obtain live train information from staff and display screens in the newly refurbished office on the main station platforms. A seating area and staffed reception desk are also located inside the new facility.
The improvements have been funded by the Network Rail National Stations Improvement Programme.
East Coast property and projects director Tim Hedley-Jones said: “This is a fantastic improvement for people using Berwick station. It brings together the latest travel information for customers with staff on-hand to help in a room which is bright, modern and welcoming.
“The new Berwick-upon-Tweed Customer Information Office is located on the platform and adjoins with the Station Management Centre. This location means more of our staff will be available to help more than half a million passengers who use the station each year.”
Passengers can now use the new customer information office after finishing touches were made overnight on March 27.
East Coast station operations manager for Berwick, Sam Livesey, said: “The new customer information office offers passengers the opportunity to find out the latest information about their journey and keep warm while seeking assistance.”

• Timetables and local travel information
• Seated waiting area
