Diversions will be clearly signposted and will be via the A698 east of the A1 and the A1167. Access across the A1 (east to west) will also be possible (via signed diversion) during the work.

The A1 will be open at all other times.

Shaun Cullumbine, Highways Agency project manager, said: “This resurfacing work has been planned at weekends to minimise disruption and to take place when traffic flows are at their lowest.Drivers are asked to plan their journeys and to follow the signed diversions.”
