DO you want a lap dancing club in Berwick? Or how about more late night take-aways?
You can now have your say as Berwick Borough Council is consulting on its Statement of Licensing Policy.
Senior licensing officer David Wilson said: "In 2004 we asked if you wanted 24-hour drinking, late night take-aways and maybe a lap dancing clu
b and although we received lots of responses from pubs and companies interested in licensing — members of the public didn't send in any views.
"We are required to review our Statement of Licensing Policy and this is your chance to have a say — your views could make a difference — so make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity to influence the licensing policy which will run for the next three years," he said.
The Statement of Licensing Policy covers the four licensing objectives in the Licensing Act 2003; the prevention of crime and disorder; public safety; the prevention of public nuisance; and the protection of children from harm. Copies of the draft policy are available on the council's website www.berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk or from the council reception at Wallace Green.
If you want to comment on the draft policy please write to the Licensing Section by e-mail to licensing@berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk or by post to the Council Offices.
