TWO men caught poaching by bailiffs at the mouth of the Tweed at Berwick have both been jailed by magistrates.

Scott McGuire, 23, of Middle Street, Spittal, was sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment, while 37 year-old Stuart Ashall, of Main Street, Spittal, was sentenced to eight weeks.

Both had previously been found guilty by magistrates at Berwick on charges of illegal poaching and the original cases had been adjourned after it was discovered that both McGuire and Ashall were in breach of suspended prison sentences.
