SEAHOUSES lifeboat was launched on Sunday afternoon when a report came in of two missing divers at the Farne Islands.
Humber Coastguard were alerted just after 4.15pm that the divers were overdue from the dive boat Fell Dive at Longstone End.
The all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched but on reaching the scene they established that the missing divers, a man and a woman from the Washington and Gateshead areas, had been located and recovered to their dive boat.
Several local craft had also joined in the search.
On checking that no medical assistance was required, the lifeboats returned to station, and the dive boat returned to Seahouses where it was met by local coastguards.
