Fisherman scrambles ashore after boat runs aground

A FISHERMAN scrambled ashore unhurt when his 15 feet long boat ran aground at the foot of cliffs at Berwick.

The man, who has not been named, is understood to have been fishing close inshore on his boat Shannon when it grounded at the Murphy's Harbour near the Magdalene Fields.

He later alerted coastguards that he had managed to get ashore and efforts would be made to refloat the boat.
