A SUCCESSFUL Border Green Festival was enjoyed by nearly 2,000 visitors from all over north Northumberland and the Borders on Sunday.
The day started with young and old enthusiastically participating in a lively African drumming workshop with master drummer Nansady Keita.
The African drummers also led the festival parade followed by the mermaid, created by children with expert guidance from the community arts group, Think Make Grow.
People of all ages enjoyed throwing a pot with professional potter Ian Kille, who was non-stop all day and took away more than 50 pots to fire.
Also in the arts and crafts tent, people participated in making cards and jewellery with crafters from both sides of the border.
Many visitors where fascinated by Bob Fleet, who showed them the art of turning wood to create a baseball bat and chair legs.
The St Abbs and Eyemouth Marine Reserve had touch tanks with hermit crabs and the amazing star fish was also a big crowd pleaser, especially with the children.
Youngsters also took part in Robot Wars, building their own robots and racing them in a table top stadium.
My Giddy Aunt's Solar Powered cinema showed a range of environmental films and "Screwed", a short film made by Berwick Youth Project, while also running a shadow puppet making workshop and taking a tour of the field as a stilt walking giant.
Music was provided by a dozen local acts beginning with a mellow acoustic sound before the crowd at the music stage swelled later on for local favourites Espionage of the Loc and The Briganties, who entertained with tracks from their new album.
The organisers, the Berwick Community Trust, would like to thank the festival sponsors EON and funders Leader and Berwick Town Council along with local community volunteers, who contributed to the running of the festival.
Thanks must also go to Brian Martin at the Music Gallery who organised the musical line up and encouraged lots of local bands to play at the festival.
