Compost bins at reduced rates
NORTHUMBERLAND County Council’s residents still have a month to buy a discounted home compost bin, before a price increase comes in at the start of April.
Each year the council works with a supplier to enable residents to buy a range of compost bins, wormeries and accessories at special offer prices. The cheapest compost bin currently on offer by the council costs £16 with a £5.49 delivery charge. There is also a buy one get one half price offer.
Gardeners keen to compost their waste can also subscribe to the kerbside collection service which offers fortnightly collections throughout the growing season of March to November for £23 per bin for the season.
