THE next meeting of Berwick Arts Club will be on Tuesday, May 13, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm in the conference room at Berwick CAB building, Tweed Street.
Vincenza Holland wil give a poetry reading entitled Something Different. Vincenza was born in Scotland, and has lived in various parts of England, besides spells in Greece and Lesotho. She now lives in Berwick.
Her collection, Mrs Turnbull's Tree, was well-received and she has given many readings of her work ranging from London to Cumbria and throughout the north east.
Some excerpts from reviews: "The strong typical poems swell to a rhetorical power." - Peter Bennet.
"An arresting poet, with a gift for the 'bombe surprise'." - U A Fanthorpe.
"Vincenza Holland has an observant and critical eye and the good story teller's sense of drama." - William Scammell.
All are welcome. There will be a charge of £2 for visitors. For further information contact the secretary on (01289) 308767.
