ON Saturday, August 16, Etal Village Hall will be presenting another evening of quality live music, featuring Tyneside musician Pete Scott.
Peter Scott was born in Walker, Newcastle. He started out singing in folk clubs and has gone on to perform nationally and internationally. Pete toured extensively in the 1970s and 80s, supporting major names such as Lindisfarne, Janis Ian, Judy Tzuke
, John Martyn and Richard Thompson.
He suspended regular gigging in the 90s to concentrate on writing and teaching, including contributing to a number of successful theatre projects. He combines his writing and performing with a successful career as a freelance music teacher. He has worked in many diverse environments, including a two and a half year stint as resident musician in a high security prison.
Pete has released three solo albums, plus his recent homage to Joe Wilson 'The Day Of Life', which Get Rhythm magazine have called a "regional classic."
His latest album 'Talking To A Stranger' was launched in December last year. Pete's music has also been included on 'The Northumbria Anthology', a musical celebration of the North East of England's history and culture. Not to be missed!
Tickets for the show, which starts at 8pm, are priced £8 and available from Helen and Steve on (01890) 820566 or hmoffitsvq@aol.com
