ANYONE with time on their hands on September 12 and 13 is invited to head to the Maltings, in Berwick, where, between 10am and 4pm each day they can paint, dance and sing to their hearts content.
As part of its support for arts and cultural development, Berwick Borough Council has organised an event with something to interest all the family.
Artists and musicians from the Tweedmouth-based arts network Think Make Grow are leading workshops
that will help people explore their artistic streak – whether it is trying painting, photography, playing African drums, writing a song or story, and finding that they don't just have two left feet.
Organisers promote a fun-filled two days. No experience is needed and all events are free.
For those who would just like to call into the Maltings, there are exhibitions of new paintings and sculpture by members of the Crossing Borders artists group, who are also opening their studios and workshops throughout the region to visitors from September 5–13 as part of an art trail, full details of which can be found online at: www.crossing-borders.org.uk.
Iconic photographs of Berwick will also be on show, selected from a competition for local photographers sponsored by Tweeddale Press earlier this year.
Evening entertainment includes a dance buffet on Friday evening and a family film on Saturday. A small fee applies to these two events.
To be sure of a place contact the Maltings box office in advance on (01289) 330999 or just come along on the day.
