FORGET the jailhouse rock, Spittal Bowling Club definitely rocked last month when it hosted its very own Elvis tribute night.

It was an evening packed full of blue suede shoes and hound dogs and the star of the show was Jerry Scheff, former bass guitar player in the king of rock 'n' roll's band.

And as well as sharing a few classic tunes with the Spittal faithful, Jerry also shared tales of his time with Mr Presley and signed some promotional photos, donating the money raised back to the club.

The night raised a whopping £645 for Berwick Cancer Support Group and Jerry also donated a promotional pack which is up for grabs via auction.

To make a bid, visit www.berwickcancersupport.co. uk, or post your bid to Berwick Voluntary Forum, Office 4/5, Tweed Street, Berwick upon Tweed, TD15 1NG. Any postal bids should have 'Jerry Scheff bid' written on the back.

All bids must be in by Friday, December 18, so that the highest bidder can have their prize for Christmas.
