PLASTER, paint and PVA glue were some of the unusual materials used by more than 20 members and guests at a recent Border Textile Group workshop.

With the addition of fabric, threads and mark-making items, highly-textured surfaces were created as a starting point for unique works of art.

Passing on expertise was Maggie Smith, who describes the technique in her book called 'Get Plastered'.

Maggie also revealed the secrets of her signature still-life bottles, which feature in the book.

The all-day workshop was the penultimate meeting of the year.
On December 12, the Christmas lunch takes place at Foulden Village Hall when there will also be an opportunity to see work produced for Theresa's Challenge. Please note the starting time of 1pm.

For further information about the group in general or forthcoming meetings please get in touch with Gill Curry on (01289) 381245.
