BERWICK and District Cancer Support Group had a successful end to 2009 when they put on their blue suede shoes for an Elvis tribute night, raising hundreds of pounds in the process.

And the fundraising efforts are continuing in 2010, with the first event lined up for February 20.

Following an offer which was made to the Support Group by Jo, wife of Beechy Colclough, they are pleased to announce an appearance at Berwick Dril
l Hall to generate some more money for a valuable cause.

Beechy, singer, songwriter and composer has returned to professional songwriting and touring after 27 years.

The last six months have been spent locked away in the studio completing his debut 12 track album called 'From The Darkness To The Light'.

One of the tracks was written in support of the British Army and is called 'A Father's Son'.

Four videos of a recent concert in Guernsey are now available on You Tube for all to see.

Beechy is bringing his band and backing singers with him next month and everyone is invited.

The Cancer Support Group is hoping there will be plenty of takers for what promises to be an exciting evening of soul, rhythm and blues, ably supported by local acts Stephen Cockburn and Gary Holland.

The music gets going on February 20 at 7.30pm tickets are now available from the Cancer Support shop at at 5 Tweed Street.

They are priced at £10 and £8 concessions and can be ordered by post.
Please mark the envelope "The Beechy Concert" and make cheque's payable to 'The Berwick and District Cancer Support Group'.

Tickets can also bought be bought from various local businesses in the town including The Brown Bear and Kreative Technology - look out for posters.
