LIKE many other musical acts across the globe, some of north Northumberland's finest are doing their bit to raise money for Haiti.
The Caribbean island was rocked by an earthquake on Tuesday, January 12 and tens of thousands of people lost their lives.
Stars the world over have taken part in telethons and recorded singles to aid relief efforts and what was meant to be a pla
tform to showcase the best young talent in Berwick has now become so much more.
Berwick Rotary Club originally billed tomorrow night's (Friday) concert to be an off-shoot of its popular Musician of the Year competition but it has now been re-branded as Rock for Haiti.
And giving their services free of charge for the gig are the Gypsy Soul Experience, The Warehouse Announcement, Yours Sincerely, Robby's Band, Rose Hiddleston, Mustapha & The Lord, The Joe Mangles and Mark Reid.
Proceeds from tickets, costing £3, will go to Haiti and there will also be plenty of opportunities to donate throughout the night.
Chairman of Berwick Rotary's vocational services, Ken Budge, said: "People have probably seen the big shelter boxes with the Rotary logo on being shipped out to Haiti on the news and these are vital."
"They cost about £500 and include water purification aids and tents that can hold 12-14 people so are valuable resources.
"We want to raise money to purchase more of these for Haiti.
"I'd also like to thank all of the young acts that are giving up their time free of charge for this valuable cause. I hope all their fans will come along the night as well to make it a memorable occasion."
President, Graham Exley, added: "The way that the young musicians have responded to this tragic disaster is amazing. They have donated their considerable talents, travelled long distances, and given a great example to the world that they care and are prepared to show it in their action, I hope everyone else will join us on Friday, have a great time and support the disaster relief fund."
The music is due to start at 7.30pm but get early to ensure you get a good seat.
