Writing competition aims to raise funds for Spittal Improvement Trust
Spittal Improvement Trust is holding a writing competition for adults and young people to raise funds.
The competition was the brainchild of Maureen Raper, Spittal resident and well-known author and tutor in Northumberland.
The title of the adult competition is “A Spittal Tale” and the young person’s competition is “A Happy Day in Spittal”.
The aim of the competition is to raise funds for the Spittal Improvement Trust and there are many interesting prizes on offer.
The cost of entry is £2.50 for adults and 50p for young people and you can enter as many times as you want.
The closing date is March 4 2013. Entries will be judged externally and winning entries will be notified.
There will be prizes for the winning entries and if sufficient interest a book will be published and all proceeds will go to Spittal Improvement Trust.
Entry forms can be collected at the Spittal Food Store, Dixons Newsagent, Highcliffe, Berwick Advertiser, Library, Tourist Information Centre, Community Centre, or alternatively telephone 01289 331994 or email sheila.heckels@btinternet.com
