Berwick firefighters visit Scremerston First School

PUPILS at Scremerston First School have been finding out how to keep safe and healthy during a week of activities.

They started each day with children and staff joining in ‘wake and shake’ exercises.

They went on to learn basic first aid and how to keep safe on roads, near railways and when using the internet.

The importance of a healthy diet was explained by Sally Fleming from the Co-operative Farm to Fork project and children enjoyed making and drinking fruit smoothies.

The week ended with a visit from Berwick firefighters, who made sure children knew how to keep safe from the risk of fires when having fun exploring the fire engine and using the hoses.
