Alan Virtue : Obituary

VIRTUE Peacefully, after a long illness borne with fortitude and humour at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin, Moray on Saturday, November 17, 2012, aged 62 years, Alan, youngest son of Peggy and the late Jimmy, formerly of Hawthorne Crescent, Prior Park and Etal Road, Tweedmouth. A funeral service was held in Elgin on Wednesday, November 28, Alan was the loving partner of Margaret, devoted dad of Mark, Tracey and Laura and proud granda of Tamsin, also brother to Les, a loved uncle and great uncle, and a nephew to so many wonderful aunties and uncles. Alan served for 39 years in the RAF but was always proud to be a real Berwicker, born at home in Hide Hill, not outside the walls in Castle Hills. Alan led a full and varied life and thanks to everyone who knew him for making his life so memorable. Finally reached his gateway to the stars. Per Ardua Ad Astra.
